Industrial Engineer (Universidad de Oviedo, Spain) and EMBA (EOI Business School). Hugo Álvarez is the head of the Engineering Department at Vector Cuatro since 2013.

He has worked for more than 10 years in the Renewable Energy market, with focus on the wind power and photovoltaic technologies. During these years, Hugo has acquired a deep knowledge relating to all the stages of development of the Renewable Energy projects, from the green field status to the construction and operation.

Prior to his incorporation to Vector Cuatro, Hugo was head of the Technical Department in ORISOL for more than 6 years. During this time, Hugo was involved in more than 1,000 MW of wind power, photovoltaic and biomass projects located in Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, EEUU and Ecuador. In each of these projects Hugo developed different tasks, form the design and engineering to the construction and operation.

Before his professional experience in ORISOL, Hugo was Operations Manager for wind farms in PRENEAL (currently belonging to EOLIA RENOVABLES), where he was responsible of the operation and maintenance of PRENEAL’s wind farms in Soria (Spain), totalizing about 150 MW.
